看了很多电影,你最爱哪部?对于喜欢电影的观众来说,这是一个很难的选择题。对于我来说有一部电影,每次看都有找回初心的感觉,它就是《海上钢琴师》。


The Legend of 1900 is directed by the famous Italian director giuseppe tonadore. It was released in 1998 and received numerous favorable reviews. 20191115日,《海上钢琴师》4K修复版穿越时光与国界于我国首映,上映三天票房持续位居单日票房前三甲,甚至超越了好莱坞大片《霹雳娇娃》,足见影迷对经典的喜爱。尽管如此,电影浓厚的文艺气质与深奥的内涵仍令很多观众难以理解。

1900背后的隐喻之一:意大利移民潮

首先要提一个大家习惯性的误区:

由于《海上钢琴师》有着浓烈的艺术色彩,以至于影迷们喜欢单从艺术的角度来分析《海上钢琴师》,却忽略了历史背景,这其实是不妥的,任何脱离现实的电影作品都很难成为经典,而将幻想与现实不露痕迹的结合,恰恰是这部电影的成功之处。

比如,影片一开头便出现这样的场景:一艘客轮缓缓驶向纽约,当风尘仆仆的乘客们看到远处的自由女神像后纷纷欢呼;

1900背后的隐喻之二:对资本主义文明的质疑

可如果单纯地将影片理解为纪念“意大利移民潮”就又错了,影片的格局远比想象中宏大,上述事件只是一个引子,影片的矛头指向的却是十九世纪末二十世纪初整个动荡的资本主义世界。

所有看完《海上钢琴师》的人脑袋中大概只有两个念头:为什么1900不下船?为什么康恩不把1900带下船?当听到1900说我永远无法走下这艘船时,尤其当最后船爆炸的时候,1900抬头微笑的样子,所以为1900难过,也为他不下船而感到深深的疑惑,即便最后1900似乎已经把他不下船的理由说的很清楚了。


The hero has a meaningful monologue at the end of the film:

"It wasn't what I saw that stopped me, it was what I couldn't see. Do you understand? What I could not see, in that sprawling city, had everything except an end."


“那个世界好重,压在我身上。你甚至不知道它在哪里结束,你难道从来不为自己生活在无穷选择里而害怕得快崩溃掉吗?”

其实,1900不想下船的原因其实有很多,但最主要的原因是他不想在无限的陆地上迷失自己,从而迷失音乐。就像他对康恩说的:“你看不见世界的尽头,在那些无限延伸的世界里,什么都有,唯独没有尽头。。。


The piano is finite, you are infinite, and the world created on these keys is infinite. What do you do on land? There are thousands of streets alone. How can you choose only one street, one woman and one house, one piece of your own house, one view and one way to die?整个世界对你而言,只不过是个重担,在有限的钢琴上你能自得其乐。”


陆地太大,可以选择的东西太多,欲望也太多,在这没有尽头的世界里,每天为了选择,为了生计就要花费很多精力,你又如何能随心所欲的弹奏音乐?又如何能弹奏出纯粹的音乐?而这些,恰恰是1900,这个“不存在”的人,最重要的东西。


Since 1900, the life style on the ship is completely opposite to that on land. It is a simple world and a limited world. You don't need to think about too much external troubles.


康恩一直对1900说,你应该去陆地上享受名利,享受人们的欢呼。但他不知道,1900天籁般的音乐恰恰是因为他没有名利在身,因为他处在有限而单纯的环境里,因为他一直以一种简单的方式在生活,所以他才能专注音乐,洞察世界,弹奏自己的心声。


Land is just a world with too many desires and exaggerations. Maybe you want to keep your heart pure, but the reality has to make you sell your precious things. 1900 probably realized this and insisted on staying on board forever. 1900 had seen through the world, through the essence of people's life on the land, just as he played the piano, he read the characteristics of each person, he traveled the whole world, so there was his music.


他说的“陆上的人喜欢寻根究底,虚度很多的光阴。冬天忧虑夏天的迟来,夏天担心冬天的将至。所以你们不停到处去追求一个遥不可及、四季如夏的地方—我并不羡慕。”
